In the U.S.A. it’s Thanksgiving. Traditionally, this is the day families get together. I, however, will not be celebrating this year.
No. It’s not because I’m depressed, which I am. It’s because the only family I have are a ton of cousins I barely know and my Mom in a nursing home.
It’s too heartbreaking to try to celebrate a family holiday without family to fight, err… Uhh… I mean celebrate with.
I must say that I have been extremely lucky/blessed/whatever. Most of my life, I have managed to avoid the horrible holiday get together. I have (without planning it!) lived too far away and been too broke to make it to the get together.
I remember a few holidays where half the family went to the hospital and the other half went to jail.
I make jokes about my family not being able to gather in groups larger than three in California because we are considered a gang. The reason for this is every time my family gets together, people go to jail and the hospital. Usually, it’s other family members.
I’m telling you these things so you can be grateful that your family doesn’t save up year round to pay bail money because of the holiday family get togethers.
❤ 😀 Happy Thanksgiving! 😀 ❤
Until next time…
